1992 Pitt vs. Rutgers

Way back when Pitt was in the Big East and still rocking the script.  This was a Thursday night ESPN game and it was Rutgers first major television appearance.  They had just joined the Big East and were attempting to rebuild a program that had only gone downward since playing Princeton in the first ever college football game.

A few notes:  Alex Van Pelt, looking quite hefty, breaks Dan Marino’s all time Pitt passing record in the second quarter.

Curtis Martin gets hurt in the early part of the game but shows some flashes of just what he will become over the next decade.

Finally, Pitt MUST go back to the bright yellow and the script.

Enjoy!
